Mother’s Reserve, an elegant Merlot now available through our friends at Old Norwood Wines!
We were approached earlier this year by Brendan and Emily Walsh of Chicago, who proposed a partnership in which a new wine label would be created to benefit our growing community and its four houses, with up to 50% of the proceeds coming directly to us. We were excited at the prospect, and got right to work, including taste testing a variety of samples. We found one that delighted all of our palates, and we in turn, are delighted to be able to offer it to you!
We decided on the name Mother’s Reserve, as a fitting honor to Our Lady’s solicitous intervention at the wedding feast at Cana, a mystery deeply loved by us all, and especially our beloved foundress, Sister Wilhelmina.
We hope that you will truly enjoy this wine, this drink that was the object of Our Lord’s first miracle, and given by Him to “gladden men’s hearts,” as we chant in the Psalms at Matins every Saturday.
